About Our Company
We are an independent nonprofit engineering innovation company dedicated to ensuring our nation's security and prosperity by delivering transformative solutions. We engineer solutions for the nation's toughest problems across diverse domains—from space to undersea and many areas in between.

Our multidisciplinary teams work directly with government, industry, and academia as prime contractors, subcontractors, and collaborators. Through our digital engineering approach and customer-centric philosophy, we develop and integrate cutting-edge technologies that achieve breakthrough advances in accuracy, efficiency, and utility.
The Opportunity

Join our Embedded Electronics group as a Senior Electronics Design Engineer and play a critical role in developing next-generation processing, computing, and sensor/actuator hardware. You'll work on exciting multi-disciplinary programs that typically span 12-18 months, with the freedom to pursue internally funded research and development initiatives alongside sponsored work.

We're looking for someone who thrives in collaborative environments and has a passion for crafting sophisticated electronic systems using commercial off-the-shelf FPGAs, processors, and systems on a chip (SOCs). This role focuses on electrical engineering and electronic hardware development, where you'll hit the ground running on complex PCB designs with minimal oversight.

Please note: Onsite work is required for this position.

What You'll Do
  • Design well-defined hardware architectures by translating project and system requirements with cross-functional teams
  • Tackle complex problems independently and drive projects to completion on schedule
  • Build, debug, and test prototypes and deliverable hardware
  • Prepare manufacturing documentation and provide ongoing support
  • Research and implement innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs
  • Lead tasks involving multiple cross-functional team members
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide constructive feedback
  • Support business development and proposal activities

What You Bring
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Proficiency in electronic design and PCB development
  • Experience with digital electronics, sensor interfaces, and power distribution design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to write detailed design specifications
  • Deep understanding of engineering theories and procedures

Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Experience leading engineering teams with diverse skillsets
  • Background in developing new products and business initiatives
  • Power integrity design expertise and power conditioning circuitry for digital PCB power rails
  • Experience with DDR3/4 memory, PCIe, and Gbit serial interfaces
  • Basic microcontroller programming skills (C/C++/assembly)
  • FPGA firmware experience (VHDL or Verilog)
  • Knowledge of circuit design interfaces with software and firmware
  • Proficiency with design and simulation tools: Siemens Designer and Layout, Hyperlinx, Ansys, Spice, Matlab
  • Experience with miniature electronic packaging using bare die or chip-scale packages
  • Ability to influence packaging design constraints for custom applications

Security Clearance: Selected applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
